Aspiring drill rapper Julio Foolio, whose real name is Charles Jones, is recovering from surgery after he was ambushed and shot in the foot on Saturday, October 7th.

On Tuesday, October 10th, Jones updated his fans with a photo showing rods inserted in his left foot to stabilize the bones. His foot is heavily wrapped in gauze and an Ace bandage. In the photo caption, he quoted lyrics from Ksoo’s track “Been Dead”:

“All this money on my head I ‘posed to been dead. All this money on my head I ‘posed to been dead.”

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office stated that “it appears that the suspect or suspects were waiting for the victim and ambushed him.” Jones, 23, was taken to U.F. Health Jacksonville Hospital in serious but stable condition. Rumors swirled that doctors had amputated his foot, and a graphic photo of his injury is now circulating on Twitter/X.

 Prayers Requested from Mother

Jones’ mother asked fans for prayers on Sunday, writing in his Instagram Stories: “Keep Foolio, my son, in y’all prayers he was shot last night in his hating city.” Police have no suspects, and sources tell First Coast News that Jones is not cooperating with law enforcement.

  History of Violence in Music

Jones’ music has been known to glorify gang violence and drug dealing. In a music video screenshot, he is seen sitting next to a poster featuring three deceased teenagers who were killed in a mass shooting in June 2018. Jones is accused of mocking their deaths in his music.

This weekend’s shooting was the second targeting Jones. He was previously shot on November 8, 2021, after getting out of his vehicle in Riverside. Jones claimed he shot back in self-defense, stating that his gun was registered and that the police would have jailed him if he had done something illegal.

Jones was also shot and wounded in Houston, Texas, in July 2020, further highlighting his history of involvement in violent incidents.
